Ten years of begging and pleading later, Power Wagon fans have been granted their wish. For the first time in history, the Power Wagon will come with 6.7L Cummins availability for the ’27 model year. That’s right, you get the new, 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft Cummins combined with front and rear electronic locking differentials, extensive underbody protection, five-link coil rear suspension, Bilstein shocks, Hill Descent Control, and class-exclusive front stabilizer bar disconnect (but, not the winch...). With Cummins power and a new, fifth-wheel gooseneck preparation package, the ’27 Power Wagon’s tow rating will check in just under 20,000 pounds. Payload capacity will approach 3,000 pounds.

What exactly is a 6.0L Power Stroke doing at Hardway Performance? We don’t know either but expect Austin Denny’s Pro Mod F-150 Lightning to come out swinging after paying a visit to the stand-alone tuning experts’ Florida headquarters. Bright and early in the New Year, the second-generation Lightning had a date on Hardway’s dyno. Denny campaigned the truck within the Outlaw Diesel Super Series’ Top Diesel category in 2025 but has yet to be able to realize the full potential of the Warren Diesel-backed, HEUI-fired, and nitrous-fed monster. In the year ahead, we hope to see the truck made its first deep 4-second pass.

Ford’s having a funny problem: people keep lining up for a $350,000 Mustang. The Mustang GTD—Ford’s most powerful street-legal Mustang ever—has demand outpacing production, pushing Ford to ramp up output and even roll some remaining orders into the 2026 model year. For those who don't know the GTD, it's essentially Ford's closest vehicle to a pure race car. Under the hood is a supercharged 5.2L V8 making 815 hp and 664 lb-ft, with a claimed 0–60 in 3.3 sec, 202 mph top end, and a 6:57.685 Nürburgring lap (a record at the time). Despite all the early naysayers, Ford has delivered 231 so far in 2025, and more buyers are still in line.

Charlie Fish has hinted that his lightweight, short bed Super Duty (nicknamed “Lucky”) is being brought back to life, and weighted up, for this year’s Seventy 2 Fast race at the Ultimate Callout Challenge. But it won’t be powered by a 6.0L Power Stroke this time… Rather, the ’05 Ford will receive a 6.7L Power Stroke transplant from Kill Devil Diesel. Chances are it will be a power plant very similar to what KDD had on display at the PRI Show. That means Delta Series CNC ported heads with a Jesel rocker system and billet intake plenums, a fully reinforced (and girdled crank) bottom end, and enough fuel to support well north of 1,000 hp…

Whether you’re looking to hit the drag strip, daily drive in style, or dabble in a bit of both, here is a solid 6-second eighth-mile performer for you. Neal Nissen’s ultra-clean ’07 third-gen can be had for a cool $32,900. It’s been 6.7L Cummins swapped, treated to 1,000hp worth of fuel and air (150-percent over injectors, 12mm CP3, S472), and sports a rust-free body. It also packs a TRE Competition 48RE to handle anything the Cummins throws at it, a 5.9L CM849 ECM for ease of tunability, and sits on 20x12 Fuel wheels. Just 150,000 miles have been logged on the odometer.

After being asked to appear at a Senate Commerce Committee hearing this month, Ford frontman Jim Farley, remains uncommitted to attending. The hearing is scheduled to evaluate the impacts of EV regulations and vehicle emissions standards on new vehicle pricing. In a letter to Senate Commerce Chair, Ted Cruz, Farley stated that a “scheduling conflict” would keep him from being able to appear, but also that Ford believes “comparable treatment for similarly situated companies” (i.e. Tesla) should be observed. According to Cruz, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, was intentionally left uninvited due to the hearing potentially turning into a “circus” with Musk present. GM CEO, Mary Barra, and Stellantis CEO, Antonio Filosa, have also been asked to attend.
